TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms apply to Enormous Door Mastering projects, including Heavy Mastering, Beyond Heavy, vinyl mastering, digital release formats, and related project services. Mixing projects may involve additional engineer-specific details, but the same basic expectations apply: clear communication, approved files, confirmed scope, payment before scheduling, and careful review before final delivery.
FILE READINESS
Clients are responsible for submitting the correct final files, clearly labeled and ready for work.
Final mixes should be exported as WAV or AIFF files from the mix session, without lossy conversion, accidental clipping, unnecessary limiting, mystery versions, or missing parts. If vinyl is involved, include intended side splits, RPM, track order, and timing notes when available.
If files are incomplete, mislabeled, damaged, clipped, distorted, exported incorrectly, or replaced after work has already started, additional time may be billed.
PROJECT SCOPE
Every project starts with the project details. We confirm the service path, release format needs, file readiness, pricing range, and scheduling before work begins.
Project scope may include Heavy Mastering, Beyond Heavy, vinyl-ready masters, streaming and digital masters, CD/DDP, cassette, Bandcamp or download masters, MP3 convenience copies, Mixing, or a combined mixing/mastering path.
If the scope changes after the project is confirmed, the price and timeline may also change.
PAYMENT AND SCHEDULING
Payment is required before scheduling begins unless a different arrangement has been confirmed in writing.
Projects are scheduled after the service path, scope, files, and payment are confirmed. Turnaround depends on project length, format needs, revision needs, current schedule, and whether the project requires Heavy Mastering, Beyond Heavy, Mixing, vinyl-specific preparation, or multiple delivery formats.
REVISIONS AND APPROVAL
Reasonable revisions are part of the process.
If something needs adjustment, communicate clearly and specifically. The goal is to make the final result serve the record, not to force a generic sound or chase unrealistic references.
If the issue is caused by the mix itself, a mix revision may be required before mastering can continue. If a new mix is submitted after mastering has started, additional work may be billed.
UPDATED FILES OR WRONG FILES
If work has already started and the client submits a corrected mix, alternate mix, replacement file, new sequence, changed track order, or updated version, additional charges may apply.
These changes require extra time because the project may need to be rechecked, remastered, resequenced, re-exported, or redelivered.
FINAL DELIVERY
Final masters are delivered after approval and after the paid format needs are complete.
Depending on the project, delivery may include vinyl-ready WAV files, streaming and digital WAV files, CD/DDP files, cassette masters, Bandcamp or download masters, and MP3 convenience copies.
Before sending files to a label, distributor, pressing plant, CD manufacturer, cassette duplication house, video team, or public release platform, the client is responsible for reviewing the masters carefully.
VINYL, PRESSING, AND MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY
Vinyl, CD, cassette, and other physical formats involve manufacturing decisions outside the mastering studio’s control.
Clients are responsible for confirming pressing plant requirements, side splits, quantities, test pressings, artwork, jackets, labels, metadata, track order, manufacturing deadlines, and production approvals.
Enormous Door Mastering is not responsible for manufacturing errors, plant delays, artwork mistakes, incorrect metadata, wrong files submitted to manufacturers, or approved masters sent into production without proper client review.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
By approving final masters, the client confirms that the files, track order, spelling, fades, starts, endings, gaps, metadata notes, and format requirements have been reviewed and accepted.
Approval releases Enormous Door Mastering from responsibility for issues caused by incorrect source files, wrong versions, client-approved errors, manufacturing decisions, distribution settings, metadata entry, or third-party production problems.
